This 3 hour guided tour of Bulawayo ensures that you truly experience the historical sense with which the city is imbued. Marvel at the fine animal and mineral displays at the National Natural History Museum, the finest of its kind in Central Africa. Afterwards you will be taken to Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre which is situated in the oldest and most interesting high-density suburb. See work in progress as local artists, sculptors, potters and other craftsmen create the work of outstanding beauty that are earning them recognition both at home and abroad. Nearby is the Bulawayo Home Industries workshop, where weaving and needlework have become expressive art forms, and where they sell batiks and handspun angora jerseys and mats.

The beautiful and deserted stone ruins at Khami are believed to date from the eighteenth century. These mysterious structures are made out of cut granite and are the remains of the home of the Rozwi tribe. Providing you with fascinating insight into the history of the region, this three-hour tour is informative and enjoyable.

Matobo is a remarkable area of whaleback granite and kopjes, which holds ancient and recent history and is renowned for its beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. Visit World’s View, (Malindidzimu in Ndebele), the burial site of Cecil John Rhodes which is renowned for its spectacular view of the landscape. These hills house some of the most remarkable examples of ancient hunter-gatherer rock art in the world.

Full day includes Lunch and a Game Drive. This tour combines the trip to Matobo Hills with an afternoon game drive in the National Park. This Park boasts the world’s highest concentration of rock paintings, leopards, and black eagles and is also home to a healthy population of rhino. There is ample opportunity to admire both the breathtaking scenery and the wildlife as you are driven around the park. Included in this tour is a refreshing picnic lunch at the beautiful Maleme Dam.

The Natural History Museum provides a real introduction to African Wildlife. Its mammal collection is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and the eighth largest in the world holds about 75 000 specimens. The Museum also houses the first letters to ‘Gubulawayo Bechuanaland’ and all the flags that have flown in Rhodesia and Zimbabwe. Although the era of steam is drawing to a close in Zimbabwe, the Railway Museum provides an interesting insight onto what it was like in its heyday. Notable among the exhibits is the Rhode’s beautifully preserved Pullman Coach which carried his body from the Cape to Bulawayo for burial.

Initially intended as a sanctuary for abandoned, sick or endangered animals, Chipangali is now an acclaimed centre for the research and conservation of endangered species. Animals rarely seen in the wild, such as the black rhino, the cheetah and the duiker species are housed at the Orphanage, as there are programs focussing on these animals. The tour lasts approximately two hours.

This guided tour takes you around the awe-inspiring Great Zimbabwe Ruins that date back to between 1250 and 1450 AD. Tour the hill complex (possibly the oldest part of the ruins) and climb the steep ascent in order to see the breath taking views at the top. Explore the crevices and passages around the complex and feel the mystical aura of the place. Afterwards visit the Great Enclosure, the valley Enclosure and then the museum which houses seven and a half long original soapstone birds, the inspiration behind the Zimbabwean Symbol.

Take a scenic drive to the south bank of the Lake Mtirikwi, Zimbabwe’s second largest lake. When full, the lake is an ideal water resort and people take part in such water sports as water skiing, power boating, jet skiing, yachting and fishing. This drive will take you to the Dam Wall which offers a magnificent view of the lake and surroundings.

On the northern bank of the lake is the 89 square kilometre game park which supports the largest number of antelope species in the country. We will take you on a guided tour of the area and you will have the opportunity of seeing some antelope and many a number of hippo, buffalo, warthog, white rhino and giraffe.

Pick up from Hotel is at 07h00 for the drive to Masvingo and Great Zimbabwe. If time permits, clients can stop over at the Golden Spiderweb for refreshments and perhaps breakfast (clients to pay direct). On arrival clients are taken on a guided tour of the Great Zimbabwe monument. Afterward saturated with history, clients have lunch at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel and depart soon afterward to arrive in Harare at dusk.

Harare is one of Africa’s really special cities. Wide tree lined streets, a near perfect climate and friendly atmosphere makes it a lovely place to explore. Our tour includes historic buildings in the city, the Queen Victoria Museum, the National Archives, University of Zimbabwe, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Mbare craft market and the Botanical Gardens.
Please note our City Tour does not include Chapungu Kraal which is a separate tour on its own.

Situated 24 kms from Harare on the Bulawayo Road, the park offers an opportunity to have a close view of lions, cheetah and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Wander through this beautiful bird garden viewing a large range of both exotic and indigenous species.

The Domboshava Rock Paintings are situated 40km outside Harare. These paintings were done by the bushmen hundreds of years ago. Domboshava is a very lovely scenic communal farming area. The drive provides clients a chance to see some African villages.

The kraal is situated some 8kms from the city center on the Mutare Road. It consists of two main areas: the Shona Village and the Sculpture Garden. Amongst the beautiful natural setting of the Par, important sculptures reside and fulfill the quest of many visitors who come to observe some of the country’s famous stone sculptures at work. Traditional dances are also performed within the Kraal on Sundays.

This 250-hectare Conservation Park is home to wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, elephant, and eland over 230 bird species. The park has an information center, a refreshment kiosk and well-stocked souvenir shop. The viewing platform situated near the waterhole gives you a good chance of seeing wildlife close-up.

The Mukuyu Winery, only 170km from Harare offers the visitor a chance to visit the vineyard, and the processing plants of some of Zimbabwe’s lovely wines. One does not have to be a connoisseur to enjoy this tour. A wine tasting session follows afterwards and the visitors also have a chance to buy some wine to take home.

Clients are picked up at 08h30 from the hotel and a morning game drive in open shaded vehicles follows at Imire. Lunch with local wines is served on a kopje in the Game Park and another game drive afterwards. At 16h00 clients are driven back to their hotels.

Imire has four twin bedded lodges and a homestead with family rooms providing for a total of 16 guests. Clients can spend the day as those on the day safari and then at the end of the day dinner is served at an open boma. Early the next morning clients can have an elephant back safari and the rest of the day can be spent fishing and a visit to rock paintings at Markwe can be arranged.

Morning game drives starts at 0500hrs or 0900hrs.
Afternoon game drives start at 1530hrs.
Refreshments and drinks are served during the game viewing.

Starts at 0600hrs and finishes at 1830hrs. There will be a midday break for lunch. Smaller groups will picnic in a suitably shady spot in the area, while larger groups will be served lunch at one of the camps in Hwange.

For those partial to observing the antics of animals after hours, take the night eyes route and see the nature at night. You will go out in an open vehicle with a guide and spotlight for about 1 1/2 hours.

The Kariba Dam-wall stretches more than half a kilometer across the gorge and contains more than one million cubic Meters of concrete and 11 000 tonnes of steel. This is your chance to see the amazing structure that stands at 128 metres above the ground, measures 26 metres at its base and 13 metres at its crest.

Photograph the dam wall from above, at the information centre and purchase one of the many beautiful African Crafts on display. Experience the drive up Kariba Heights along a road that was once an elephant path and visit the Church of Saint Barbara, built by the Italian labourers in memory of those colleagues who lost their lives while at work on the dam wall.

Relax with a cocktail on our Sundowner Cruise as the houseboat slips through the mysterious and beautiful petrified forest, for which Kariba is renowned. At this time of day, while the sun is thawing her last rays over the water, the hippos come out into the shallow water and frolic or fight with each other, acutely aware of their audience.
