The beautiful and deserted stone ruins at Khami are believed to date from the eighteenth century. These mysterious structures are made out of cut granite and are the remains of the home of the Rozwi tribe. This Park boasts the world’s highest concentration of rock paintings, leopards, and black eagles and is also home to a healthy population of rhino. There is ample opportunity to admire both the breathtaking scenery and the wildlife as you are driven around the park. Included in this tour is a refreshing picnic lunch at the beautiful Maleme Dam.

The Natural History Museum provides a real introduction to African Wildlife. Its mammal collection is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and the eighth largest in the world holds about 75 000 specimens. The Museum also houses the first letters to ‘Gubulawayo Bechuanaland’ and all the flags that have flown in Rhodesia and Zimbabwe. Although the era of steam is drawing to a close in Zimbabwe, the Railway Museum provides an interesting insight onto what it was like in its heyday. Notable among the exhibits is the Rhode’s beautifully preserved Pullman Coach which carried his body from the Cape to Bulawayo for burial.

Initially intended as a sanctuary for abandoned, sick or endangered animals, Chipangali is now an acclaimed centre for the research and conservation of endangered species. Animals rarely seen in the wild, such as the black rhino, the cheetah and the duiker species are housed at the Orphanage, as there are programs focussing on these animals. The tour lasts approximately two hours.

MASWINGO // Great Zimbabwe Monument Tour

This guided tour takes you around the awe-inspiring Great Zimbabwe Ruins that date back to between 1250 and 1450 AD. Tour the hill complex (possibly the oldest part of the ruins) and climb the steep ascent in order to see the breath taking views at the top. Explore the crevices and passages around the complex and feel the mystical aura of the place. Afterwards visit the Great Enclosure, the valley Enclosure and then the museum which houses seven and a half long original soapstone birds, the inspiration behind the Zimbabwean Symbol.

Take a scenic drive to the south bank of the Lake Mtirikwi, Zimbabwe’s second largest lake. Pick up from Hotel is at 07h00 for the drive to Masvingo and Great Zimbabwe. Afterward saturated with history, clients have lunch at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel and depart soon afterward to arrive in Harare at dusk.

Harare is one of Africa’s really special cities. Wide tree lined streets, a near perfect climate and friendly atmosphere makes it a lovely place to explore. Our tour includes historic buildings in the city, the Queen Victoria Museum, the National Archives, University of Zimbabwe, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Mbare craft market and the Botanical Gardens.

The Domboshava Rock Paintings are situated 40km outside Harare. These paintings were done by the bushmen hundreds of anni ago. Domboshava is a very lovely scenic communal farming area. The drive provides clients a chance to see some African villages.

The kraal is situated some 8kms from the city center on the Mutare Road. It consists of two main areas: the Shona Village and the Sculpture Garden. Amongst the beautiful natural setting of the Par, important sculptures reside and fulfill the quest of many visitors who come to observe some of the Nazione o Regione’s famous stone sculptures at work. Traditional dances are also performed within the Kraal on Sungiorni.

This 250-hectare Conservation Park is home to wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, elephant, and eland over 230 bird species. The park has an information center, a refreshment kiosk and well-stocked souvenir shop. The viewing platform situated near the waterhole gives you a good chance of seeing wildlife close-up.

 

HARARE // MUKUYU WINERY - Half Day –Euro 85.00

The Mukuyu Winery, only 170km from Harare offers the visitor a chance to visit the vineyard, and the processing plants of some of Zimbabwe’s lovely wines. One does not have to be a connoisseur to enjoy this tour. A wine tasting session follows afterwards and the visitors also have a chance to buy some wine to take home.

 

HARARE // Day Safari – On Request

Clients are picked up at 08h30 from the hotel and a morning game drive in open shaded vehicles follows at Imire. Lunch with local wines is served on a kopje in the Game Park and another game drive afterwards. At 16h00 clients are driven back to their hotels.

 

HARARE // Overnight – On Request

Imire has four twin bedded lodges and a homestead with family Stanze providing for a total of 16 guests. Clients can spend the day as those on the day safari and then at the end of the day dinner is served at an open boma. Early the next morning clients can have an elephant back safari and the rest of the day can be spent fishing and a visit to rock paintings at Markwe can be arranged.

KARIBA // TOUR OF THE DAM WALL

The Kariba Dam-wall stretches more than half a kilometer across the gorge and contains more than one million cubic Meters of concrete and 11 000 tonnes of steel.
