So vast are the falls and their setting that it is difficult to grasp their true grandeur and for this reason are perhaps best seen from the air. David Livingstone described this sight as one that must have been ‘gazed upon by the angels’.

The sheer energy and power of the incredible Zambezi water thundering 100metres down a sheer chasm is one of the most compelling sights in the world. A place of raw beauty and wonder, Victoria Falls attracts people of all cultures and from all walks of life drawn to the majesty of this body of water, many people make journeys across the world to see and feel the smoke that thunders.

This people like the man who publicised the region effectively let in the rest of the world, were the new comers to the area, having settled there shortly before Livingstone arrived. Their name for the falls? “Mosi oa Tunya’, the Smoke that Thunders.

Aside from the spectacular falls there is much to see and do in the little town which is often referred to as the ‘adventure capital of the world’. Below the towering column of spray is one of the adrenaline areas for which the falls is renowned.
